Margery Reeser Tribute

Margery Catherine (Roth) Reeser
August 1, 1935 - April 13, 2018
Margery Catherine (Roth) Reeser, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Albany with family by her side.
She was born in Filer, Idaho on August 1, 1935 to James and Maude (Ernest) Roth. She was the youngest of eleven children.
She married Charles Wesley Reeser on October 20, 1955 in Filer, Idaho. In 1956, they moved to their ten-acre farm in Shedd, Oregon where they lived for fifty-five years.
Margery spent most of her life raising their seven children.
She helped with Good News Club evangelism in Shedd for many years. She taught Bible school, Sunday school and participated in Shedd school activities.
In 1974, she began working as a nurse’s assistant and retired at age 74. She loved caring for other people and took care of her in-laws, William and Emma Reeser and her brother-in-law, Maynard Reeser in their later years.
She enjoyed sports, fishing, sewing and made many quilts and blankets. She loved to garden on their ten acre farm and spent many hours canning for her family. Margery was a gracious hostess and her home was always open to family and friends.
She and Charles were members of “Mennonite Your Way,” an organization that provided hospitality to travelers who needed a place to stay. Margery was a member of the Mennonite Church all of her life.
She is survived by her five sons, Wesley Reeser (Julie) of Halsey, Berdette Reeser (Cindi) of New Holland, Pennsylvania; Reuben Reeser of Shedd, Lonnie Reeser (Cheryl) of Woodinville, Washington, Phillip Reeser (Jennifer) of Albany; two daughters Peggy Short (Mervin) and Twila McIntosh (Robert) both of Albany; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She also leaves behind one sister, Dorothy Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; eight sisters; and one brother.
The family thanks the staff of Brookdale Geary Street for their constant loving care over the last year.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her grandson serving in Constanta Romania - Titus & Hazel Short Youth With A Mission, c/o Turning Point Church, P.O. Box 795, Turner, OR 97392,
