Darla Jean Engom

Darla Jane "DJ" Engom, 74, died on Friday, April 22, 2016.

Darla was born in Woodward, Oklahoma to James C. Plumlee and Jewel Fern Powders Plumlee.

In 1944 the family moved from Oklahoma to Nehalem, OR, and later to Albany. Darla attended Riverside Grade School, Central Jr. High, Albany Union and Linn Benton Community College.

On April 14, 1962 she married Larry L. Engom in Corvallis.

She worked at Keybank up until her retirement.

Spending time with family and friends was a priority to Larry and Darla. She loved the time she shared with her grandkids and cooking for family and friends. She also enjoyed the 18 years in multiple car clubs "cruisin".

A lady like DJ comes along once in a lifetime. She was a wife, mother, sister, grandma and best friend to so many and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Walters, Randy Engom and Lanny Engom; daughters, Faye Ann Judson, Carrie Mason and Tina Carlson; brother, Edwin Plumlee; sisters, Betty Crowder-Dewall, Bonnie Carl and Carolyn Davidson; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; daughter, Carla; brothers, James Jr., Bob, Roy and Pearl "PP"; sisters, Eva Miller and Myrtle Wreath.

Darla was a member of VFW Auxiliary, Eagles and Lifetime Street Masters.

A funeral service will be at Noon on April 30, 2016 at First Assembly of God, Albany. A celebration of life will follow at 1 p.m. at the Albany VFW.
