Darla Kay Hymes

Darla Kay (Schultz) Hymes of Harrisburg passed away in her sleep on June 26, 2015.
Darla was born in Eugene on Sept. 11, 1966, to Rod and Kay Schultz. Darla graduated from Churchill High School in 1984, and then attended Warner Pacific College for two years. She graduated from LCC in 1987 earning her LPN degree. Darla married Tom Hymes on Sept. 20, 1986.
Growing up Darla was very active in Camp Fire, she received the Wohelo Award. She played varsity volleyball and basketball in high school. Darla worked as an LPN for the Eugene Clinic; she also sold Mary Kay Cosmetics and received a sales award on stage at the National Convention in Dallas, Texas.
Darla is survived by her parents, Rod and Kay Schultz; husband Tom Hymes; daughters Kaylyn Hymes, Courtney Hymes and Kristi Hymes; sister Ginger Schultz Cox; and brother Jay Schultz.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at Harrisburg Christian Church in Harrisburg. The family encourages attendees to dress in brightly colored clothing reflecting Darla's bright personality and spirit.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harrisburg Christian Church Youth Ministries.
