Gary Edward Pfeifer, 63, of Albany passed away on Thursday at the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House.
Gary was born in East Alton, Illinois, to Edward Schmidt and Jean (Bruce) Farman. He grew up in California and graduated from Verdugo Hills High School.
He worked as a machinist and mechanical engineer most his life and most recently worked for A.T.S. in Corvallis.
Gary was a member of Rollin' Oldies car club. He enjoyed car shows, square dancing, barbecuing and the coast.
Gary is survived by wife Diane Pfeifer of Albany; son David of Oregon; daughter P.J. of Pennsylvania; granddaughter Daphne; grandson Billy; and father Edward Schmidt of East Alton, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Farman.
A celebration of life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at Woodstock Pizza in Corvallis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Safe Haven Humane Society or Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House.
