Skyler "Sky" Joseph Ambrose, 21, passed away on Jan. 26, 2016.
Skyler was born on March 30, 1994. He is survived by his loving and cherished father, Joseph Grey Ambrose; mother Gwendolyn Ellingson; dearly loved auntie Adair Ambrose; his true love, Catrina Zandueta; mother of his son, Regan Joseph Gene Ambrose; and Regan's brother, Nathan Vann. Skyler is also survived by special sisters Tiffany Richards, Maryenna Twist, Dani Ellingson and Sarah Ellingson; grandparents Duke and Judy Ellingson; and his lifelong best friends, who he considered a brother, Jordan Herd.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth A. Jesse, who adored him and played a special role in his upbringing.
Skyler attended Albany Christian School and graduated from West Albany High School lettering in soccer. He had a lifelong love of music playing saxophone, euphonium, piano and drums. He became an accomplished guitarist who enjoyed composing music for his family and friends. Skyler was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt and explore.
From an early age, Skyler had an entrepreneurial spirit, beginning with a lemonade stand at the age of 6, and, at the time of his passing, an exotic reptile business. He loved working with his hands and could master any project. He learned his mechanical skills from his father and his close uncle, Gene Ellingson. He had a strong work ethic and was highly respected by those with whom he worked.
Skyler was a joy to his family and all those who knew his easy smile and the twinkle in his eye. He will be deeply missed by his family including many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life for Skyler will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.
