Joseph Fredrick Peterson
Born on July 27, 1990, in Aberdeen Washington to William R. Peterson and Tammie Jo Dickinson, passed away on Sunday March 17, 2024.
Joey grew up primarily in Waldport Oregon, attending Waldport schools while living with his dad and “mom” (Crystal), brother Jimmie, sisters Danielle and Kimberly.
He met Sierra Bramlett whom he married on May 21, 2016 (they divorced in 2024) and created a beautiful family together. They have three amazing children together, Oaklee Cynthia Ann, Bentlee William and Karlee Arvetta Jean, whom Joey adored and loved with every ounce of his being! They were by far his most favorite people in existence.
Joey had the opportunity to go to Alaska with his dad for a couple seasons of Black Cod and Salmon. He enjoyed the experience and definitely the bonding time with his dad but quickly realized that being away from his babies that long was not something he wanted to do long term. For the majority of his working life, he was a cook. He also loved computer work and building them. As an avid gamer he loved building gaming systems the most.
Joey was an amazing, happy go lucky guy. He took pride in being courteous and respectful, opening doors for people, offering to help in any way he could. He made everyone laugh and had such a charismatic and humorous personality. Always the sarcastic jokester but so very caring and would help anyone who needed it. He took his job very seriously and was very prideful in his work and his work ethic. He recently achieved the goal of a manager’s position at Denny’s and was so proud of himself that he had made so many positive changes for himself over the last year.
He loved sandboarding and was an instructor and a competitor at Sand Master Park in Florence. He was featured in a Travel Oregon magazine, showcasing the fun of sandboarding and also was in a commercial for “Visit California” ad campaigns. He won several awards in competitions over the years and loved being able to teach people how to do a sport he loved!
Joey is survived by his parents Willie & Crystal Peterson; biological mother Tammie; his beautiful children Oaklee, Bentlee and Karlee; 3 brothers Douglas Sanborn, Michael Grauberger (Teresa), James Peterson; and 2 sisters Danielle DaBell (Shyanne) & Kimberly Peterson; 6 nephews: Judah Sanborn, Elijah Sanborn, Mikey Grauberger, Oliver Grauberger, Simon Grauberger, and Takoda Waggoner.
A celebration of life may be planned for a later date, possibly around his birthday in warmer weather.
