Bette Moyer was born to Mary and Eugene Montgomery in Ellensburg, Washington. She attended school in Los Angeles and graduated from Catholic High School in 1937, then attended Los Angeles City College.

Bette had four children from a previous marriage: Mike, Laurie, Katie and Jeff. She married Eldon Moyer in 1974.

Bette was working in accounting at Hughes Aircraft when she and Eldon retired in 1975. Bette had many adventures traveling in Mexico, and later, motoring around the country with Eldon. In 1998, Bette and Eldon moved to Corvallis to be near her daughter, Katie, and son-in-law Terry Barker. She was a voracious reader, jeweler, painter, knitter, sculptor and life-long bridge-player. Bette’s sharp wit, and deep faith carried her through a long, rich life that will be remembered by her family, friends, and Catholic community.

Bette is preceded in death by her daughter Laurie, and is survived by her dear husband, Eldon, her three children, six grandchildren, three great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Bette passed away peacefully on a sunny afternoon holding her daughter’s hand.

Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. Recitation of Rosary will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb 17 a AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Corvallis with a burial to follow at Oak Lawn Memoiral Park.
