Donna M. Ochse, 83, died peacefully in her sleep on September 15, 2017, in her Albany area home. She was born in Corvallis on August 28, 1934, to Cecil and Beulah Hughes. Donna grew up in Peoria, Oregon, and has one brother Gary and two sisters named Lois and Juanita.

Donna met her boyfriend Howard Ochse at age 15 and married him when she was 18 years old, in May 1953. She had two children, a son Kelly and two years later, a daughter Susan. Donna was a stay-at-home mother who was very involved with her children's activities such as being a Boy Scout Den Leader. She loved camping, fishing, and going to the coast with her family. She was widowed after 44 years of marriage to Howard, due to his Alzheimer's.

Donna was a devoted Christian who attended weekly Bible studies and went to church regularly. She was a current member of Eastside Christian Church. She also attended North Albany Community Church for over 30 years.

Donna loved knitting, cooking, gardening, walking, and swimming at the YMCA where she was a member. She also enjoyed getting together with the Red Hat Club women. She regularly attended the Eagles for dancing.

Donna was a positive and loving person. She loved people and was kind to everyone. She had a good sense of humor. Donna was always helping and caring for her friends and family when they needed her.

Donna is survived by son Kelly Ochse of Albany; daughter Susan (Doug) Deibele of Camas, Washington; brother Gary Hughes; sisters Lois Pharis and Juanita Greig; and grandchildren Steven (Kristen) Deibele, Mark Deibele, Jonathan Deibele, and Nick Ochse.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Howard.

Donations can be made in Donna's name to The Boys and Girls Club of Albany, The Susan G. Komen Foundation or your favorite charity of choice.
