Irene Vadora Kropf Stutzman

January 10, 1924 — August 26, 2017

Irene Vadora Kropf Stutzman, age 93, passed to her heavenly home on August 26, 2017.

She was born the second child and oldest daughter to John Kropf and Myra King Kropf on January 10, 1924. She was born on the family farm near Harrisburg where she lived until her marriage to Freeman Levi Stutzman on November 28, 1943.

To this union were born five daughters, Clista Mcpherson o Sun City West, Arizona, Virginia Hendon of Salem, Alyce Doughton of Jefferson, Karen Stoltzfus of Manheim, Pennsylvania, and Cathy Austin of Salem. She had 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She loved her family and was greatly concerned for their spiritual welfare.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 13 and remained faithful throughout her life. She was interested in Christian missionary work and taught Sunday school for eight years in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Some of Irene’s favorite things were reading, sewing and writing.

She and Freeman enjoyed traveling, gardening, fishing, camping and hiking, mostly in Arizona and Oregon. They traveled together in every state except Hawaii and lived in Virginia, California, Oregon, Montana, Georgia, Florida, Arizona and Alaska.

After Freeman passed away on April 26, 1999, Irene did volunteer work in Sun City, Arizona.

She moved to Albany in May 2003 to be near family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughter Karen Soltzfus; three brothers, Fred Kropf, John Kropf, Jr, Myron Kropf and sister Florence Neuschwander.

She is survived by four daughters; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Milton Kropf, Floyd Kropf, Daniel Kropf, Percy Kropf; and five sisters, Marianna Ulrich, Rachel Schlabach, Dell Siddall, Joy King and Jean Clay.

Irene will be deeply missed by her family and all who loved her.
