Marla Kim McManus

Marla Kim McManus passed away at the age of 52 on Friday, May 17, 2019 in her home in the presence of her loving family. She was born March 25, 1967, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Robert and Karel McCilester. There she made her early childhood memories with her big sister, Paula Gaye by her side. The family moved to Alturas, California in 1974. She was a 1985 graduate of Modoc High School where she enjoyed vocal jazz, jazz band, cheerleading, track and spending time with friends.

She was baptized in the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on January of 1988 by Brother Donny Young.

At the 1985 Prineville Church Campout, Kim met the love of her life, Mark McManus. They married on January 30, 1988 in Alturas California and shared 31 very special years together. Over the years, they welcomed three beautiful daughters into their life; Jacelyn Shay, Teah Ruby-Rheanne and Kylee Jadeyn. In September of 2014, they were blessed with a sweet little granddaughter, Jaimie Richan.

Along with being a loving mother and homemaker, Kim enjoyed going to campouts, singing with the brethren, shopping, cooking, and baking. She loved having people in her home and she truly valued time with her family.

Kim will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Mark; three daughters, Shay and her husband Scotty Swezey, Teah, and Kylee; and granddaughter, Richan Swezey, all of Halsey Oregon; her father and mother, Robert and Karel McCilester; her sister, Paula Gaye Crighton; and her nephew Aaron Crighton, all of Alturas California; as well as many more family members, friends and loved ones.
