Virginia Ann Monson Fosdick was born in Woden, Iowa on November 15, 1930 to Frank and Vera Monson. The family moved to the Talbot area in 1945 and she graduated with honors from Jefferson High School in 1948.

She married John Leonard Fosdick on September 18, 1949 in Scio. Together they raised three sons.

Virginia was a homemaker and also a bookkeeper for her sister-in-law for many years. Later in life, she worked for Dr. James Gross as a chiropractic assistant.

Virginia loved her family, camping, fishing, playing cards, travelling, gardening, and crocheting. She also enjoyed watching her sons play city league softball and attending St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a younger brother Kenneth Monson.

Virginia is survived by her husband; three sons, Gary (Laura), Mark (Susie) and Aaron (Peggy); seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Brookdale Geary Street memory care and the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House for the loving care they gave Virginia.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on July 17, 2017 at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. Following a reception, a concluding graveside service will take place at Willamette Memorial Park. All are invited to attend.
