Albert" Gerald" Fisk, 91, of Albany passed away Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Rector, Arkansas, the son of Enoch Albert Fisk and Hettie Elizabeth Beaton. He was raised in Rector, Arkansas, Clay County and married Lillian Lucille Holifield on May 6, 1951, and they lived in Rector, Arkansas, moved to Toledo on Jan. 2, 1952, and moved to Albany in 1961, where he had lived since.
Albert "Gerald" entered in the United States Army in March of 1945 at Camp Robinson,
Arkansas, and did basic training at Camp Hood, Texas. He was a corporal in the 876th Quartermaster Supply and Sales Company in Seoul, Korea. After leaving the Army in December 1946, he was employed with Crockett Ford Co, Gene Gouge Plumbing and Clay County Highway Dept. in Rector, Arkansas. While living in Toledo, he was employed with Georgia Pacific and Stone Forest Industries Inc. from 1961 until his retirement in 1990.
He was a member of Albany First Assembly of God for 30 plus years and enjoyed traveling camping, fishing and visiting with family and friends.
Albert "Gerald" was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Lucille Holifield Fisk of 60 years; two brothers, J.D. and Laverne Fisk; and sister ValleyJo Fisk.
He is survived by sons Marion Gerald Fisk of Albany and David Desmon Fisk and wife Rachel of Plain Dealing, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Pamela Fisk of McKinney, Texas, Matthew Fisk and wife Angie of Houston, Texas, Mackenzie Fisk and wife Nakitia, and Colton Fisk and fiance Holly Johnston all of Plain Dealing, Louisiana; three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, McKenna and Bailey of Plain Dealing, Louisiana; sister Garnetta Starnes of Kennett, Missouri; two brothers, Desmon Fisk and wife Betty of Sikeston, Missouri, and Harold Fisk and wife Bonnie of Paragould, Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Etta Sue Ingles and husband Ron, and Alma Joyce Murphy all of Eugene; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A celebration of life with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Albany First Assembly of God with a reception to follow.
