Albert Lee Grellmarch 22, 1927 - Oct. 26, 2009Albert Lee Grell, 82, passed away Monday at Good Samaitan Regional Medical Center.Albert was born in tangent to Charlie and Alice Grell.  Al was the younger of two boys.On October 1, 1949, he married Dolores Karlson; she passed away on December 25, 1998.  On Feb. 7, 2001, he married Violet Walz.Albert served in the Navy during World War II, and worked at the Grange oil in Tangent for many years. He retired in 1989 from Northwest Natural Gas of Albany.Albert was a longtime board member of the Tangent Fire Department and a lifetime member of the Willamette Modelers Club of Albany.Albert is survived by wife, Violet Grell; sons Paul of Shedd, Bruce and wife Sue of Sweet Home, and Glenn and wife Linda of Tangent; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.Albert was preceded in death by his parents, and brother Charles Grell.A memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.  Contributions may be made to the Oregon Aviation Museum of Cottage Grove or Tangent Fire Department. AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
