Alice Faye Cochell

May 18, 1940 – December 1, 2017

Alice passed away peacefully on Friday, December 1st, 2017 at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House in Albany surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born in Halsey, OR to Melvin K. and Delta L. Powell.  She grew up in Halsey and graduated from Halsey high school.  Following high school, she attended business school in Portland.

Alice Powell married Jack Cochell on January 10th, 1959.  They had two daughters; Teri Lyn was born on July 4th, 1960 and Vicki Faye was born August 17th, 1962.

Alice was dedicated to civil service her entire working career.  She worked for 20 years as the City Recorder in Halsey and then an additional 20 years in the accounting/payroll department for Linn County.

Alice enjoyed travelling with her husband and family, camping at Detroit Lake, crocheting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with her family.  She was a faithful member of Central Valley Church.

Alice is survived by her brothers Ron Powell (Sherry) and John Powell (Sue); sister Rosalie Conrad; daughters Teri Smith (Tim) and Vicki Slagel; grandsons Dustin Walker (Bryanna), Shane Smith (Marie) and Jason Smith; granddaughter Ashley Walker; great-grandbabies Henry, Alice, Damian Jr., Iris and Elizabeth as well as a large extended family and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held at Central Valley Church in Halsey (657 American Dr) on Saturday, December 16th at 11:00 AM.
