Allen Gale Freeman, 88, of Albany passed away Saturday.
Allen "Gale" Freeman was born to Homer and Helen Freeman near Georges Creek, Ark. After his father died in a logging accident when he was only a child, his mother married W.O. "Wally" Burleson.
Gale was married to Oweta Gilley on Sept. 9, 1942, and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Rev. Dale Freeman and wife Marilyn of Albany; three grandchildren, Tara Calvert and husband Clint of Rochester, Minn., Jason Freeman and wife Teri of Battle Ground, Wash., and Todd Freemand and wife Sarah of Albany; four great-granddaughters; and three great-grandsons.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, at Calvary Baptist Church, 800 34th Ave. S.E., Albany.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to Freeman Memorial Mission Fund at the church.
