Allene C. Kelsey

Allene C. Kelsey, 91, of Albany went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 23, 2017, from Samaritan Evergreen Hospice.

Allene was born in Powell Butte, Oregon, on Dec. 24, 1925. Her parents were Allen L. Cook and Alma May Williams.

She worked as a legal secretary in Alhambra where she graduated from high school, as well as her husband's plumbing shop and ended her career working for SSI here in Oregon.

She married Willard D. Kelsey on Aug. 3, 1946, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He passed away in May 1964. She never remarried.

Allene is survived by their only child, Karen L. Hopper and husband George H. Hopper; three grandchildren, Lisa A. Stewart and husband William R. Stewart, Jennifer S. Hopper and Daniel D. Hopper; and cousin Connie Stanley.

Allene was the youngest of four: Gladys Barber, Jessie Potter and Carl Herring. They all preceded her in death.

A funeral/celebration of life will be Monday, March 6, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Grand Prairie Road in Albany, where she has been a member most of her life. The viewing will be at 10:30 a.m. and the service will begin at 11 a.m.
