Alphonse Joseph BeckerMarch 19, 1910 - October 21, 2008 Alphonse was born in St Helena, Neb., to John and Elizabeth (Klug) Becker.  He grew up and went to school in Nebraska.  Alphonse helped his family to farm.  In June 1938 he married Mabel Sudbeck.  In 1955, Alphonse moved his family out west to Albany where he went to work for Wald Construction and later for Dick Draper, building houses.  Mabel passed away in 1993.  He then married Marie Crakes in September of 1993.  Marie passed away in April of 2000.  As he aged gracefully, Alphonse was able to stay on the farm with help from family & care giver Annette Liess.  Alphonse was the last remaining sibling from John & Elizabeth's family of 11 children.  Art, Elsie, Fred, Ray, Arnold, Sep, Lucina, Laura, Edgar and Gilbert preceded him in death.  Surviving are sons James and wife Karen, Duane and wife Bobbie, Charles and wife Cindy, Allen, Roger and wife Sue,  all of Albany; five grandchildren, Brian Becker of Albany, Doug Becker of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Dawn Nielsen of Albany, Jermey Becker of Corvallis and Josh Becker of Albany;  step grandchildren Rocky Walkup of Albany and Toni Stires of Lebanon;  great-grandchildren, Amber Nielsen & Makenna Becker; and step great-grandchildren Ashley Dillard & Nick Newell.  Graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Willamette Memorial Park.  Contributions may be made to Benton Hospice Service in care of the funeral home.   AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling arrangements.  ( www.aasum-dufour.com
