Obituary

Anne Rogers passed at her daughter's and son-in-law's home in Albany, Oregon on February 23, 2012. She was 94yrs old.
Anne was born June 17, 1917 in Huntington, Oregon. She was born to a large Italian family of 10 children, with the baptized name of Anna Antonia Miglioretto. This was during the depression years when Anne grew up. Due to the poverty brought on by the depression, when she was 7rs old, her and her sister Catherine were moved onto Lloyd and Ruby Bowman's ranch on the Powder River in Richland, Oregon. She always had wonderful stories she told of her childhood in Eagle Valley. She went to nursing school in the early 1940's in Seattle, Washington until she was asked to go to observe surgery which she refused to do. So that was the end of her nursing career and she moved closer to a friend in Portland Oregon where she worked as a telephone operator during WWII and that is where she met Procter Rogers. She was married to Procter Rogers November 27, 1948 in Portland, Oregon and they moved to a Farm on Eagle Creek Road, near Richland Oregon in 1950. Proctor, her husband passed before her on August 1st 1967 and Anne continued to live on the farm and raise two children Bert and Catherine Rogers. She lived on the farm until she was 84yrs old when she moved closer to her daughter in Albany, Oregon.
She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Jack Pepper in Portland, Oregon, and Procter's sister Ruby Ladeen in Portland, Oregon. Her son Bert and Evelyn run Annie's Café in Richland Oregon and live on the farm on Eagle Creek Road. Her daughter Catherine and John Marion live in Albany, Oregon. She is also survived by three grand-children and two great grandchildren: Grand- children are: Travis, Breanna and Samantha. Travis and Brittina live in Portland, Oregon. Samantha and Derrick now live in Albany, Oregon and recently moved from Florida with their daughter Zyana. Breanna and Jeff live in Ohio with their son David.
Anne was small in stature, not quite 5ft tall, but large in spirit and laughter. She loved all sports, but baseball was her favorite and the Dodgers were always her favorite team. She grew up during a time when you don't throw anything away, because you may need to use it later.
