Annette Marie Hobbs
June 15, 1955 - March 8, 2016
Annette Marie (Jean) Hobbs passed away on March 8, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.
Annette was born on June 15, 1955, in Huntington Park, California, to Raymond and Mary Patricia Jean. She spent her childhood in Ukiah, California, with seven brothers and three sisters before moving to Oregon. She lived in Talent and Portland before moving to Albany in 1971.
She attended West Albany High School and Linn-Benton Community College where she earned her associate's degree. Annette married her high school sweetheart, Tim Hobbs, in 1976 at St. Mary's Parish. They raised three children and have six grandchildren.
Annette was the Executive Director of Fish of Albany Inc., an emergency non-profit organization, for 27 years. Annette was passionate about helping others and served her community all her life. She was an inspiration to her family and to the community that she lived and worked in.
Annette taught dance aerobics for 20 years and was an avid power walker. She enjoyed playing golf with her husband, son, brothers and father. She devoured books and loved crossword puzzles. Annette's favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.
Annette is survived by her parents, Ray and Pat Jean; six brothers and three sisters; her husband, Tim Hobbs; her children and their spouses, Holly and Daniel Ryan, Adam and Sarah Hobbs, and Nelly and Dana Harrington; and her six beautiful grandchildren, Ivy, Ella and Finn Ryan, and Paige, Sadie and Libby Harrington.
Annette was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a friend, a giver and a go-getter. She will be mightily missed but in our hearts forever. Rest in joyful peace our dear Annette.
A recitation of the rosary will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A celebration-of-life-service will be at 4 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Oak Creek Christian Center.
In lieu of flowers, Annette asked that donations be made to Fish of Albany Inc., 1880 Hill St. S.E., Albany, OR 97322.
