Arlene J. BoeslAugust 20, 1937 - April 10, 2008Arlene J. Boesl, 70, of Albany passed away Thursday at the Mennonite Home. She was born in Calvin, N.D., the daughter of Henry L. and Florence A. (Metzger) Hooey. She was raised in Langdon, N.D., and graduated from St. Alphonsus High School in 1955. She married Allen Frank Boesl in Langdon on June 27, 1956, and after Allen was discharged from the U.S. Air Force, they moved to the Corvallis/Albany area. Arlene worked for the Corvallis School District as a purchasing clerk until her retirement in 1996. She enjoyed playing cards, games of all sorts, working crossword puzzles, reading, spending time with family and popcorn. She lived a simple, fun-loving Christian life. Her passion for God and family were dear to her heart in action and words.She is survived by sons Andy Boesl of Medford, Arlyn Boesl of LaPuenti, Calif., and Aron Boesl of CoosBay; daughter Alana DeWeese of Albany; sisters; Mary Louise Oneal of Chico, Calif., Myrna Lorenz of Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Doris Nelson of Crabtree; granddaughters Andrea Bartell, Coryn, Megan, Heidi and Katie Boesl; grandsons Joshua and Markus Boesl; and great-grandson Connor Bartell. She was preceded in death by husband Allen, son Alan, parents, and infant sister Ethel Hooey.Visitation will be from 1 to 7 P.M. Tuesday, followed by a Rosary prayer service at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Marys Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Catholic Church Bereavement Fund, The Mennonite Home or Samaritan Evergreen Hospice in care of the funeral home.
