Obituary

Arlene Hostetler, 81, of Albany went to be with the Lord Friday morning. She loved and served Him for many years in many roles, including as a pastor's wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also served as a Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, and traveled with her husband in his evangelistic ministries.

Arlene was born in Harrisburg the daughter of Herman and Mae (Kropf) Smucker and married Roy Hostetler on Oct. 12, 1947, in Harrisburg.

She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and baking cookies for her grandchildren. She loved being with all of her family.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy Hostetler of Albany; daughters Karen and husband Steve Such of Salem, and Kathi and husband Moses Troyer of Ohio; son Jim Hostetler and wife Kaye of Albany; grandsons Darin Such and wife Becky of Vancouver, Wash., Richard Such and wife Katie of Salem, Clint Troyer and wife Keisa of Michigan, Derrick Hostetler of Albany; and Brian Hostetler and wife Lacey of Shedd; granddaughter Jodi Troyer of Wisconsin; five great-grandchildren; and brother Elden Smucker of Junction City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers Willard and Lester.

A visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 28, at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Fairview Mennonite Church with burial to follow at the Fairview Mennonite Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to "Christian Aid Ministry" and sent in care of the funeral home.
