Armando AguilarSeptember 13, 1921 - July 30, 2010 Armando Aguilar, 88, of Jefferson, died at his residence on July 30th. He was born on Sept. 13, 1921 in Reynosa, Mexico to his parents Florentino and Martina (Magallan) Aguilar, the third of eight children. He graduated with a degree in Accounting. He worked as a Labor Contractor, a Foreman at a grapefruit packing co. and a part-time truck driver. He moved to the United States around 1939 living in Alamo, Texas. He served in the United States Army Air Corp. in 1945-46. He married Oralia Garcia in 1955 and she died in 1979. He then married Araceli Benavides in 1980 and she died in 1992. He enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables and raising goats. He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Manuel, David and Jose. He is survived by two sons Armando Jr. of Alamo, Texas and Hugo of Jefferson, Oregon; two sisters, Guadalupe Maria Thrift, Ascencion Gonzales; two brothers, Roberto and Fidencio; and four grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Wed. Aug. 4th from 9am to 11am at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home in Albany with a Rosary service at 10 a.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow take place at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany followed by a committal service at Jefferson Cemetery.
