Obituary
Arthur W. "Art" Schmunk, 58, of Corvallis passed away on Monday at the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House after a short illness.
Arthur was born in Gardena, Calif., the second of twins to David F. and E. Miona (Deakin) Schmunk. He moved with his family in 1963 to Wildwood, Calif., and attended school there and graduated from Hayfork High School in 1973.
Art moved to the Willamette Valley in 1976 and lived in various towns before settling in Lewisburg in 2006. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching anything to do with auto racing.
Arthur is survived by brothers Roy and wife Lauri of Aumsville, Charlie and wife Sheryl of Albany, Jim and wife Nancy of Kasilof, Alaska, and Doug of Kenniwick, Wash.; sisters Wanda Helmick of Baker, Susan and husband Gary Melroy of Redding, Calif., and Cindy and husband Mike Broughton of Pasco, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Tom, in 1975; father David in 1994; mother E. Miona in 1999; and brother Bob in 2001.
At his request no public services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice.
