Beatrice "Bea" Thomas

Feb. 26, 1921 - Jan. 9, 2017

Beatrice Thomas, 95, of Bend formerly of Albany, passed away on Monday, at the Regency Village in Bend.

Bea was born in Lehigh, Oklahoma to Jim and Myrtle (Moreno) Acosta. She married Seaborn Thomas on Nov. 4, 1941 in Reno, Nevada before he went to war. After the war they lived in Long Beach, California until retirement when they came to Albany in 1982. Seaborn passed away in Sept. of 2004. Bea enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and baking and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.

Bea is survived by son Steven Dale Thomas of Sunriver; brother Gilbert Acosta of Woodward, Oklahoma; sisters Margaret Furey of Colgate, Oklahoma and Juanita Runyan of Smyrna Beach, Florida; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Riverside Baptist Church a graveside will follow at Palestine cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Riverside Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
