Betty V. MarlowApril 12, 1932 - November 9, 2009Betty V. Marlow, 77, of Albany passed away Monday at her home with her family at her side.She was born in Glasgow, Mont., the daughter of Jason Alfred and Ruby May (Arrants) Tillotson. Betty's family came to Oregon when she was 4 years old and she was raised in Myrtle Creek and Boomer Hill. She played softball for Myrtle Creek High School and met and married Daniel R. Marlow in Myrtle Creek on Feb. 9, 1950. Betty and Daniel moved to Albany in 1959 and she worked as a caregiver for 15 years at Powel Nursing Home and Elder Guest in Albany. Betty enjoyed gardening, playing games, camping with family, collecting recipes, baking, hosting family diners, and had a great love of animals. She was always there for those who needed her.She is survived by son DuWayne Marlow of Grants Pass; daughters Pamala and husband Glen Ferguson of La Pine, and Danita and husband Carl Weber of Albany; sister Alfreda May Sinyard of Reno, Nev.; and best friend Betty Guse of Albany; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel R. Marlow, in 1987; and companion Herman Page in 2008.Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society and sent in care of the funeral home.
