IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Evelyn
Murphy-Tallman
September 20, 1922 – December 20, 2016
Betty Murphy-Tallman
Sept. 20, 1922 — Dec. 20, 2016
At age 94 our beloved mother passed with her children, Floyd Collins of Albany, Carol Murphy-Ryun of Damascus and Virginia Murphy-O'Neill of Stayton beside her. Final resting place is Mount Jefferson Memorial Park in Madras, with her beloved son, Charles, who preceded her in death at the age of 2.
Marrying James Arthur Collins in 1943 they had one son. Subsequently she married Henry Murphy in 1947 and had three children. Henry passed in 1970 at the age of 46. She married Eldon Tallman in 1987 and added four wonderful stepchildren to her family. Eldon passed in 2009 at the age of 86.
Her mother and father, Floyd T Glass and Gertrude McKelvey, were married Feb. 9, 1910, in Olathe, Colorado. They had seven children.
Upon her mother's passing at an early age, Floyd Glass married Lucy Buck who with her three boys joined the family of seven — Betty, three sisters and three brothers. Lorna's birth joined the two families.
She is survived by two sisters, Flora DesJardin of Arizona and Lorna Brogdon of Arizona; stepbrother Norbert Buck or Portland; her three children, four stepchildren, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Betty was a feisty red head and one of the hardest workers anyone would ever meet. She loved her gardening, and trips with Eldon in their motor home from Madras to Arizona, back to Oregon, Vancouver, Albany, Lebanon and then to live with Floyd in Albany; she remained active and so loved by all. We will miss her but will forever remember her strong character and the values she instilled in each of her children who she lived for.
In loving memory of our mother Betty Murphy-Tallman we wish a safe, joyous journey and wonderful reunions.
