March 10, 1927 - April 5, 2017
Betty Elma VanArtsdalen, 90, of Albany passed away Wednesday at the Oregon Veteran's Home in Lebanon.
Betty was born in Darlington, Missouri, to Isaac L. and Lelia (Houston) Allenbrand. She grew up in Missouri and married Arthur Lee VanArtsdalen in Olathe, Kansas, on Sept. 4, 1949, and they came to Albany in 1965 and Betty has lived here since that time. She was a member of Albany First Assembly (Hope Church) for many years. Betty enjoyed horseback riding, playing games, and taking care of children. She was known as "Grandma Betty" to all who knew and loved her.
Betty is survived by sons Frederick Isaac VanArtsdalen of Lake Quivira, Kansas, and Arthur VanArtsdalen of Washington; daughters Kathy Corjosso of Corvallis, Vickie VanArtsdalen of Albany and Beth Cellerini of Albany; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur; and brothers Jay and Karl Allenbrand.
At her request, no local services will be held.
