Betty Jean Wade, 89, of Albany passed away on Saturday, Jan. 11, in her home.
She was born in Corvallis to Charles and Christina (Peterson) Voss. Betty grew up on the family farm near Suver. After graduating from Corvallis High School she attended and received her nursing degree from OHSU in Portland. Betty worked at Albany General Hospital and as an office nurse in Albany.
Betty married Donald L. Groves. They later divorced. She then married Ralph M. Wade. The two moved to Santa Barbara, Calif. Mrs. Wade obtained her pilots license and was an active member of the Oregon Pilots Association. She was also interested in golf, baseball and horse racing.
Betty is survived by son Mark and wife Maureen Groves of Santa Barbara; daughters Bonnie Halladey of Albany and Debbie Darrel of Fallon, Nev.; grandchildren Cortney Groves, James Halladey, Angela Halladey and Megan Darrel; and two great-grandsons.
A celebration of Betty's life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, at Wynwood of Albany, 2445 Geary St..
