Robert Wayne Reimer

Robert "Bob" Wayne Reimer Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 27, 2016, at the age of 66.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Minnie Reimer; children Angela and husband Rick Eller, Robert Jr. and wife Nancy Reimer, and Patrick Reimer and wife Athena Eisenbrandt; brother Donald Reimer Jr.; sisters Patricia Sinclair and Edith Gestrin; grandchildren Jessica Gilkey, Peyton, Abigail and Madison Eller, Jeffery, Ahnalee, Katelynn and Samantha Reimer, and Derrick and Danielle Reimer; as well as a very large extended family.

Bob was born in Tuscola, Illinois, to Donald Sr. and Lila Bell Reimer on July 6, 1950, and both preceded him in death as well as his younger brother, Martin Reimer. After his service in the Navy, he joined the Army Reserves and then the National Guard. He retired from the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service in 2012 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and building and refurbishing furniture in his spare time. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him as he always said, a stranger was just someone he hadn't met yet, and that was how he lived his life.

A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct 8, 2016, at South Albany Community Church, 2418 Geary St. S.E., in Albany. There will be a potluck lunch (his favorite) immediately following the service.
