Bobby Max Clark, 84 of Albany, passed away Saturday, March 26.
Bobby was born in Jet, Oklahoma to Raymond Wesley and Blanche Estelle (Replogle) Clark. He was the oldest of 11 children, growing up during difficult days, but gaining a true sense of family, faith and character. When Bobby was 17 years old he joined the military. He was sent to Germany where he fought in the Battle of The Bulge. On Feb. 19, 1946 he was honorably discharged, always proud of his country and his service.
After his tour of duty in the military he moved to Pratt, Kansas where he worked for Egbet Oil Company operating service stations. His primary focus, however, was softball. His talent as a pitcher was exceptional and it would be a part of his life for many years to come. In the late 1950's he moved to Twin Falls, Idaho where he owned and operated 2 service stations. Then around 1958 he moved to Boise to work as a salesman in the mobile home industry. Bob's life and business pursuits brought him to Albany, Oregon, in 1964 where he further developed his business practice selling mobile homes.
In 1967 he married Rachel Cooper Falconer in Albany. Together they would purchase Eugene Beauty Supply in 1975; Rachel taking care of much of the business side, while Bob served the customers as a salesman. Bobby retired from the business, December of 1990.
Some of the favorite pastimes for Bob were baseball, golf and traveling. However, he truly loved his family and friends. The Clark reunions were a tradition he anticipated and enjoyed and often invited his close friends to experience the same. No matter where Bobby went he would make new friends; no one was a stranger for very long.
Bobby was a member of Springhill Country Club, and attended First Assembly of God.
Bobby is survived by wife Rachel Clark of Albany; daughter Diane Burton of Salem; son Max Clark of Bend; son Rick Falconer of West Linn; son Randy Falconer of Castle Rock, Col.; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters Audene and Arjean; and brothers Dick, Don, Gib, Larry and Loy.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; sister Darlene; and brothers Bill and Gail.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Friday at First Assembly of God in Albany.
Memorial contributions may be made to OSU Dugout Club in care of the funeral home.
