Boyd Ragnar Moline, 82 of Albany passed away Tuesday at his home.
Boyd was born in Yutan, Neb., to Ragnar C. and Lena C. (Storm) Moline.
He was raised in Yutan where he went to school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1948, attended Nebraska Wesleyan College and earned his masters degree from San Jose State in California. On June 3, 1953, he married Donna Belle Thompson at St. Andrews in Bloomfield, Neb.
He started his teaching career in Crafton, Neb., and taught in Monterey, Calif., for 31 years. In 1986 he retired but continued to substitute teach for five years.
In 1991 the family moved to Albany and Boyd continued to substitute teach here.
Boyd loved wood working, gardening and watching sports. He attended St. Mary's until he suffered a stroke in 2009. He was a member of the American Legion, and the AM Vets, and was a FFA supporter.
He is survived by wife, Donna Moline of Albany; daughters Cristi Kimes of Watsonville, Calif., and Kim Austin of Holister, Calif.; son Robert Moline of Albany; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother James Moline of Red Bluff, Calif.; sister Lois Bueker of Texas; and several special nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 7, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with a burial to follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens with military honors.
