Charlene Diane O'ConnellDecember 11, 1953 - October 30, 2009Charlene Diane O'Connell, 55, of Albany died as a result of a automobile accident on Friday. She was born in Valley City, N.D., to Ted Sr. and Lorna Wolski. After moving to several locations between Oregon and Mississippi, they settled in Albany and she graduated from West Albany High School in 1972. Following high school Char worked at the cornet store and then Stokley's Van-Camp Cannery for 14 years. She married the love of her life John O'Connell on June 20, 1987. Her greatest joy was her two daughters. She enjoyed camping, the sand dunes, crafts, and being with family. She was a frequent volunteer at the schools, Albany Aquatics Swim Team, and 4-H club. She was a full time mother and actively participated in her daughters activities through her volunteer work.She is preceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 22 wonderful years, John; beautiful daughters Erin and Sarah; brothers Rod Wolski of Albany, Glenn Wolski and Warren Wolski both of Salem and Ted Wolski of Hillsboro; sister Sabina Jacques of Fresno, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home with a rosary service beginning at 7 p.m.. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
