Charles (Charley) Albert Wolf, born October 2, 1940, New York City, New York. Died April 20, 2022, Albany, Oregon

Graduated from Roslyn High School, Roslyn, Long Island, New York, 1958.

Enlisted in US Navy, July 1958

Charley was proud of his Submarine Serves aboard the Benjamin Franklin and Daniel Boone Submarine. He was aboard the Daniel Boone for the first, longest and deepest dive (300 feet) made.  His overseas duty stations took him to Bermuda, Hawaii, Roda Spain, and Guam among many others, including the Arctic Circle and the Equator. Charley was a member of the original crew of the U.S. Canopus, Commissioned 1965 at the Charleston Naval Shipyards.

After retiring from the Navy in 1978 he joined family in California, Charley had a career in our civilian defense industry as an electronics technician. In the 1980s he moved to the Pacific Northwest, eventually settling in Albany, Oregon where he joined the Albany American Legion, Post 10. He was very active in the support and service of the Legion, making many close friends there.

Charley was preceded in death by his younger brother, Frank A. Wolf (U.S. Army). Charley is survived by sisters, Barbara Barraclough (Ed) of Silverton, Oregon and Tina Wolf-Spinola (Bob) of Paso Robles, California; niece Loriann Bird-Griffing (Ron); great nephew Robert (Samantha) of Albany, Oregon; niece Sally Bird-Gauvin (Michael); great nieces Zoe Gauvin and Isabelle Gauvin; and great nephew Carter Gauvin of Silverton Oregon.

A private service with military honors will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at AAsum- Dufour Funeral Home in Albany, Oregon with a Celebration of Life to be scheduled at the Albany American Legion Post 10, Albany Oregon.
