Obituary

Chuck Robinson, 60, of Jefferson died Friday at his home after a brave battle with leukemia.

Chuck was born in East St. Louis, Ill., to Mel and Helen (Green) Robinson. He is the eldest son of five children.

He married Marleen in 1969. They have four sons together: Tim, Mike, Tom and Jim. They divorced in 1994. Chuck married Joann in 1998 and they adopted granddaughter Sadie.

Chuck proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Wah Chang in Albany as a machinist for 25 years. He retired in 2000.

Chuck was an avid fisherman and felt most at home on a lake. One of his favorites was Ten-Mile Lake in Florence. He loved to ride his Harley and was a member of the Patriot Guard, and also rode with the Combat Vets. He enjoyed traveling. He had a great passion for sports and coaching his boys.

Chuck was a very friendly, kind, funny and a loving person. He could become friends with everyone he met. His sarcastic sense of humor only made people love him more. He loved life and loved being around family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mel and Helen; niece Tinna; and brother James.

He is survived by his wife, Joann; sons Tim and wife Kim, Mike and wife Christy, Tom and fiancée Melissa, and Jim and fiancée Hayley; daughter Sadie; stepson Jeremiah; stepdaughter Kitty; 15 grandkids, one great-granddaughter; brother Jeff; sisters Linda, Patty and Pam; and all of his nieces and nephews, all of whom live in Albany.

A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be at noon Wednesday, June 6, at Jefferson Baptist Church with a graveside committal with military honors following at Jefferson Cemetery.

The family requests that contributions be made to the "Chuck Robinson Medical Fund" through the US Bank in Albany.
