IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christina Marie
(Jensen) Hays
February 18, 1958 – August 3, 2024
Christina Marie Hays was born February 18th, 1958, in Boise, Idaho to her parents Ed and Donna Jensen. Her family moved to Tulare, California in May of 1968. She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on September 13th, 1969, by Bro. Wayne Brown. She moved to McKinleyville, California in 1970. In 1974 her family moved to Halsey, Oregon.
On September 13th, 1975, she married the Love of her life, Loyd Edgar Hays. As newlyweds, they lived in Prosser, Washington. In July of 1976, they moved to Brownsville, Oregon where they welcomed their first daughter, Wenona. When Wenona was 1 month old, they moved to Norman, Oklahoma where their second daughter Alicia was born. They moved to Halsey, Oregon in 1980 where their third daughter, Tisha was born. During the summer of 1981 when Tisha was about 6 months old, they moved back to Norman, OK, until moving back to Brownsville in 1984. Shortly after that, their son Crispin was born and a couple of years later, their son "Tony" was born. They weren't rich in this world's standards, but very rich in the things that really mattered. They taught their children the Faith, and were both great examples of how to live for the Lord. They traveled often amongst the brethren. They lived their remaining years together in Brownsville. In October of 2012, God took her Loving husband home. It was her husband's wish that his wife could be taken care of. The Love he had for his wife lived on as her children continued to take care of their Mother.
Christina lived in Brownsville until she died. Even as her health failed, she tried to have an upbeat mindset and put her Faith in the Lord. Christina was such a light to many. She made a point to reach out to people with encouraging and uplifting words. Even in her dying hours, she was reaching out and letting multiple people know how much she loved them.
Christina's many grandchildren affectionately called her "Nana". She enjoyed something she called "tickle fights" with her younger grandkids. She put a lot of thought and effort into giving her grandkids meaningful Christmas gifts each year. Even this year, with her failing health she had gifts that she was working on.
She is survived by her siblings Mary Skinner with her husband Joel of Buffalo, Missouri, Sarah (Jensen) Elliott of Boliver, Missouri, and daughter Wenona Rossiter with her husband Travis Rossiter of Brownsville, OR. daughter Alicia Capdeville of Brownsville, OR. Daughter Tisha McManus with her husband Matt McManus, of Banks, OR. Son Crispin Hays and his wife Cassie Hays, of Brewster, Washington.
She was also survived by her Grandchildren Edgar and Cheyanna Rossiter along with their unborn child of Lebanon, OR. "Nana" was very excited about her first great-grandchild. Zack and Melody Shamburg of Vici, OK. Eldon Newport of Stillwater, OK, Rex Newport of Brewster, Washington, Corrina Barnes of Ripley, OK, Vanessa and Alma Mae Norris of Cushing, OK, Christian and Savannah McManus of Vernonia, OR. Jared and Ruby Bashaw of Oklahoma City, OK, Anthony and Heidi McManus of Vernonia, OR, Garrison, Zaccheus and Kincaid McManus of Banks, OR and Camden and Cade Hays of Brewster, Washington, and a host of nieces and nephews that she Loved dearly.
Christina was preceded in death by her Father Ed Jensen, Mother Donna Jensen, brothers Neil Jensen, Tony Jensen, and Eric Jensen, infant sister Josie Jensen, husband Loyd Hays, son "Tony" Hays, son-in-law Rex Newport, grand-daughter Syble Rossiter and grandson Oliver Hays.
Christina will be missed by many friends and family. She Loved spreading joy and inspiration. She especially Loved giving hugs. She was a wonderful hugger. She loved to sing church songs. Often breaking into song as she traveled along and melodies in her home. Her happy place was the Coast. She enjoyed walking the beach and searching for shells.
Christina's time on this earth is over. It is her greatest wish to see all of her friends and Loved ones in Heaven someday.
