Cloy Merle Troyer passed away on August 17, 2015 at 1:30 pm at Evergreen Hospice House in Albany, Oregon.
Cloy was born at home on a farm on July 13, 1929 west of Milford, Nebraska to John and Elsie (Eicher) Troyer. He grew up and attended Pilot Knob Country School. He was baptized at West Fairview Mennonite Church in his early youth. On January 16, 1948, Cloy was united in marriage to Norma Jean Hostetler and to this union three children were born. Gweneth, Cynthia, and Rick, and later Antonio was adopted into the Troyer family.
Together they farmed in the Milford and Dorchester Nebraska area until Cloy accepted the call of ministry and moved to Lincoln, Nebraska. He was ordained on May 29, 1960 into pastoral ministry.
During their 66 years of marriage they served in several churches in Nebraska, Arizona, California and Oregon. Cloy faithfully served his Lord and the work of the Mennonite Faith until his death as part of the Fairview Mennonite Church as pastor, mentor, friend and brother in the Lord.
Cloy is survived by his wife Norma Jean; daughters and sons-in -law, Gweneth and Dale Kropf, Albany, Oregon, Cynthia and John Clark, Glendale, Arizona, Rick and daughter-in-law Joannie Troyer, Salem, OR, daughter -in- law, Linda Troyer, Tucson, Arizona;. 7 grandchildren and spouses, Lance and Rachelle Roth, Highlands Ranch, CO, Shauna and Dan Myers, Surprise, AZ, Justin and Becca Kropf, Hendersonville, TN, Angela and Jon Brumbaugh, Glendale, AZ, Aaron and Shannon Troyer, Salem, OR, Tiffany and Eddie Hollowell, Avondale, AZ, and Shania Troyer, Tucson, AZ.; and 12 great grandchildren.
Cloy was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Milton, Royden, Stanley, infant brother, and Kenny; sister, Grace; and son Antonio Troyer.
