Colleen Anne Veitch passed away on Saturday, Sept. 27, at her home in Albany surrounded by her family.
Colleen was born at Holy Family Hospital in St. Ignatius, Montana, to Robert and Lucille Donnelly. She moved to Oregon with her family and attended schools in Albany. She graduated from Albany Union High School in 1965.
During her working life she tended and managed bars while working at several taverns and restaurants in Corvallis and Albany for many years including The Tomcat Tavern, Bamboo Terrace and the Hickory Pit. During this time, she met William Jay Veitch at the Peacock in Corvallis. They fell in love and were married in Nevada on June 8, 1974.
Colleen was a Duck fan and always enjoyed watching and cheering for them anytime they played. Family was important to her and she loved spending time with them, especially her two grandkids.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; sister Trudy; and her husband.
Colleen is survived by son William Shawn Veitch; daughter Shelly Anne Vandiver; son-in-law Ty Vandiver; grandchildren Billy and Lexi Veitch; sisters Roberta Pope and Jane O'Donnell; and brother Robert Donnelly.
A celebration-of-life service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.
