Cora Ann WeaverMay 20, 1935 - February 6, 2008Cora Ann Weaver, 72, of Albany passed away Wednesday at the Lebanon Care Center.She was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma, the daughter of Verdie Lee and Lula Virginia (Jones) Holmes. Her family moved to California in 1944.She married Joe Frank Weaver in Hanford, CA., on May 20, 1954. On April 8, 1961, Joe and Cora came to Albany and have been here since that time. Cora worked as a cook for many years for the Knox Butte Migrant League, making lunches for the children of the migrant workers, and later for Merle's Chuck Wagon until they sold. She enjoyed camping, fishing, reading, gardening and cooking. Cora was a friend to all she came in contact with.She is survived by her husband of 53 years Joe F. Weaver of Albany; daughter Sandra E. Meston of Albany; son Edward L. Weaver of White City; grandchildren Jason and Katie Weaver and Julie and Amy Ewert; sisters Virginia C. Thompson of Albany, Gwen Howell of Albany and Jean Costa of LeMoore, CA.; and brothers William A. Holmes of Redding, CA., and Marvin D. Holmes of New York.A Memorial service will be held Friday, February 8, at 2:00 P.M. at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home with private family burial at Willamette Memorial Park.
