Cynthia (Cindy) Kay Harms

May 17, 1961 - February 8, 2024

Cindy was born in Albany, Oregon on May 17, 1961, and unexpectedly passed away on February 8, 2024, as a result of her numerous health issues. She spent her childhood in a number of states across the US and graduated from Ukiah High School located in California in 1979. After graduation she moved to Bakersfield, CA where she married and started her family, living there until moving back to her birthplace in 1993. She worked at the Albany K-Mart for several years until its closing and cherished the many friendships she made from her time there.

Those who knew Cindy will remember her for her generous heart, her infectious laugh, and her optimism through all of life's challenges. She had a love of wind chimes, sea turtles, and let's not forget her extensive shot glass collection. Once an active member of Narcotics Anonymous of Albany, Cindy enjoyed camping trips to the coast and various outings with her NA family. She was very proud of her continued sobriety throughout the years and her support of others in their recovery journey.

Cindy is survived by her daughter, Jessica Harms of Sutherlin, OR, and her grandson Karsyn, who was in her care for the past seven years and lovingly referred to her as Nana. Cindy was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Ashley and her parents Bill and Sharon Parsons. Cindy is also survived by her siblings, Kathy Hair (and her husband John) of Ukiah, CA, Merrilee Parsons of Bend, OR Anthony Parsons of Eugene, OR, as well as numerous nieces and nephews along with her friend and caregiver, Nicole Miles.

Please join us for a Remembrance Service celebrating Cindy's life on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 3:00pm at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home in Albany, Oregon. There will be a reception immediately following the service.

Cindy left us all too soon - may she rest in peace.
