Larsell
December 18, 1949 – March 1, 2024
Daniel Alan Larsell, a lifetime resident of Albany, died at the age of 74 on March 1, 2024. Daniel was born on December 18, 1949, to Richard and Betty Larsell. He grew up skiing, boating, and camping with his siblings Deb, Dennis and Deanne, as well as extended family. Dan later married Jessie Wickstrom and they had daughters, Angi and Patty
Dan graduated from Albany Union High School in 1968. He later earned a bachelor's in accounting from Oregon State University. Dan spent over 20 years employed as an accountant at the Wah Chang plant of Allegheny Technologies in Millersburg.
Dan had a deep interest in history. He loved to travel to historical sites and museums in the U.S. and Europe. He was a Civil War and WWII reenactor. He also served as the treasurer on the board of directors for the Monteith House.
Dan also enjoyed being an Oregon State athletic booster. He has been a season ticket holder for OSU football for over 40 years. In more recent years he would also attend gymnastics events for the Beavers with his family.
Dan is survived by his daughters, Angi Larsell and Patty Adams; son-in-law Stephen Adams; and grandchildren Brennen, Lucas, Heidi, and Lorelai. He is also survived by his siblings Deb Larsell Snyder and husband Bob, Dennis Larsell and wife Mary, and Deanne Larsell and wife Nan. Lastly, he is survived by nieces and nephews Shannon, Heather, Tina, Melissa, Eric, and Kyle.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Betty Larsell. Dan also had many beloved cats that preceded him in death, namely Rocky, Squirrel, Max, Owen, and Shadow.
