Desireé Mechele Taghon, 45, of Albany passed away Saturday at her home.
She was born in Portland, the daughter of David and Shay (Stanton) Taghon. She was raised in Canby, attended schools there, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland in 1985. Desireé later attended Phagans' Beauty College in Corvallis, and for the last eight years has owned the Beauty Bar in Corvallis. She loved her work and being with family, volunteered for Albany Civic Theater, and was a member of the Corvallis Business Association.
Desireé is survived by her mother, Shay L. Dakan of Albany; brothers David Taghon of Albany and Aaron Taghon of Canby; godparents Don and Mary Stanton and godmother Rosa Conlon; one niece; one nephew; one great-niece; one great-nephew; two aunts; one uncle; beloved cousins in Alaska, Buffalo, California, Germany, Louisiana, Oregon and Washington; and father, Dave Taghon of Aurora.
A memorial Mass will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, July 2, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany, with a graveside service for cremated remains at 3 p.m. that day at Zion Memorial Park in Canby.
