Dolores, 80, of Albany passed away in her home the morning.
She was born in Portland to Roy and Margaret Sagert, descendants of a pioneer Tualatin family.
Dolores graduated from Salem High School, during which time she worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Salem Memorial Hospital. Dolores married Jay Rupp at St. Joseph's Church in Salem on Sept. 16, 1950. Their 60th wedding anniversary being 3 days after her passing.
A devoted wife and mother of 60 years, she raised three children; Susan, Vernon, and Dennis. The family lived in Portland, Pendleton, and Salem before moving to Albany in 1960, where they built the home where she continued to live until her passing.
After retirement she enjoyed traveling, gardening, and providing lavish feasts for her visiting family. During the past 20 years Jay and Dolores wintered in Arizona, participating in off-road exploring of the great Southwest. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
She is survived by her husband Jay; daughter Susan of Albany; sons Vernon of Portland and Dennis of Springfield; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice in Albany.
Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a Mass at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. A graveside service will be held at Willamette Memorial Park.
