Doris F. SmithNov. 16, 1951 - July 23, 2010Doris F. Smith, 58, a long time Albany resident passed away Friday at Oregon Health Science University in Portland, surrounded by her family.Doris was born in Frankfurt, Germany.  She was raised by her grandparents, Walter and Maria Heins.In 1968, she met the love of her life, her "lovebug" William A. Smith, Jr.  while playing foosball.  They began their adventure together March 16, 1971, in a simple church wedding in Halsey, Oregon.Doris worked for American Family Video and Inland Quick Freeze, before becoming a full time Nana.She enjoyed reading, playing cards and spending time with her friends and family.Doris was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Maria Heins.She is survived by her husband William "Bill", son Shawn, daughter Sheila and son in law Robert, all of Albany.  She will be terribly missed by her grandchildren: Katelynn, Austin, Abigail and Jordan.Doris requested that no memorial service be held.  A celebration of life potluck will be held at her home on August 8, 2010 at 1 pm.AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
