Obituary

Dorothy Lund was reunited with her loved ones in heaven on Thursday, Feb. 11. She was born to Raleigh L and Sadie L (Johnson) Chandler on Oct. 6, 1926, in Albany where she was raised and attended Albany Schools. Dorothy should be remembered as the "young brunette beauty" who worked at the Cravemore Ice Cream Shop in the Bikman Building in downtown Albany. Her father was a police officer and later served as Chief of Police.

She married Robert Lund, a young sailor, after WWII in Vancouver, WA. They settled back in Albany where they later welcomed a son, Raleigh and a daughter, Cynthia. The family lived in the Eugene area before settling in Gold Beach where they owned Lund's Tax and Bookkeeping Service while raising the children. They later moved to Agnes on the Rouge River before going full time traveling and spending winters in Arizona.

Dorothy was an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed creating needlepoint and knitting. Before her husband, Bob passed away they moved back to Albany to be near family.

Dorothy was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal church and is survived by her son, Raleigh (Eve) Lund of Central point; daughter, Cynthia (Ansel) Houck of Eugene; three grandsons, including Darron (Sharla) Houck of Creswell, five great-grandchildren, one great, great-grandchild; and nieces Dani White and Lonnie Stevens of Albany.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Bob Chandler and Raleigh Jr.; and Grandsons Greg and Barry.

At her request there will be no services.
