Dorothy "Dottie" Irene Nagel, 84, of Albany passed away on Saturday at Regency of Albany.
"We love mom with all our hearts and are sad that she is no longer with us, but we rejoice knowing that she is now walking the streets of heaven with a perfectly new body."
Dottie was born in Burwell, Neb., to Thomas and Florence (Weins) DeHart. She met Henry Nagel Jr. in January of 1946 and they were married the following September. From then on they shared their very special love song, "You Belong to My Heart." Dottie was involved in the church throughout her life and loved listening to and performing gospel music, and loved her God. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 67 years, Henry Nagel Jr.; three children, Jerris, Rick and Debbie; nine grandchildren, David, Ashley, Karah, Justin, Rickey, Randie, Kurston, Sarah and Rachel; and eight great-grandchildren, Taryn, Ava, Karlee, Austin, Ellie, Jackson and Kellan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Jerry, Art and Forrest; sister Viola; and son Kim.
A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Oak Creek Christian Center with a graveside to follow at Willamette Memorial Park.
