Obituary

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day -- and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." - II Timothy 4:7-8

As we read this scripture, we are reminded of Ed - a man who lived its truth. A man of deep faith and unshakeable prayer, Ed was known for his courage, forgiveness, loving spirit, and above all, his kindness.

Born on May 8, 1948, Ed graduated from West Albany High School in 1966 before attending Oregon State University. He proudly served in the National Guard for ten years. During his early career, he sold real estate before working at Wah Chang and studying machine shop at Linn Benton Community College.

Family was everything to Ed. His greatest hope and daily prayer was that each of his loved ones would come to know and follow the Lord so that they might one day be reunited in Heaven.

" And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me, that you also may be where I am." - John 14:3

An avid fly tyer and fisherman, Ed found joy in nature and countless adventures with his dear friend and fishing buddy, Mike Crickmer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patti; daughters Sonia Carter of Albany, OR; Clarissa of Illinois; and Shonda of Portland, OR; his cherished grandchildren Connor, Quinn Chantal, and Lindsay; and his brother Ralph of New York.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Ed's legacy of faith, love, and quiet strength will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Forever in our hearts.
