Edward Dewey Spears III

March 11, 1951 – April 5, 2017

Edward Dewey Spears III passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 in Albany, OR.

Ed was born in Breckinridge, TX to Edward Dewey Spears Jr. and Lois Dean Spears.  He grew up in Abilene, TX and Hobbs, NM.  He moved to Ft. Worth, TX in 1970 and then to Austin, TX in 1973.  While in Austin, Ed attended Texas State University for respiratory therapy.  He then moved to Hobbs, NM in 1981 where he was the manager of a trucking company.  Later, in 1990, Ed and his family moved to Cloudcroft, NM where they bought and managed Pine Crest Cabins.  In 2003, he moved to Moscow, ID with his wife and daughter Amber.

He was married to Margie Spears for 36 years.

Ed enjoyed riding motorcycles and Vespa scooters.  He was an avid gun lover.  He enjoyed collecting artifacts and arrowheads from New Mexico.  Ed enjoyed spending time with his wife Margie and 2 children, Brian and Amber, on the family ranch, The Vallegrand in New Mexico.

Ed is survived by Margie, his daughters Amber and Kristin; sons Brian, Joshua and Zachary; his father Edward (Bubba); brother Ted; sister Betty Anne; son-in-law Kevin; granddaughters Samantha, Shelby, Madilyn and Peighton; and his best friend Stanley Wilson.

A celebration of life service will take place on April 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home in Albany.
