Obituary

Elaine Rose Jeanguenin Wharton, 70, of Lebanon Oregon passed away Thursday at Avamere Rehab of Lebanon. Elaine was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Herman León Jeanguenin and Louise Emiline Wood. Being the younger of two girls she loved to play in the fields of flowers set by streams and lakes to fish and just love to be out doors. During her high school years she had to dropout to support the family but return to adult education night school and graduated from South High School in 1968in Salt Lake City, Utah. On February 20, 1959 Elaine married Harry Lee Wharton. Together they raised a son David Lee Jeanguenin Wharton, and four daughters, Susan Dawnrose, Sonya Lea, Sandra Jeannette, and Sylvia Lynn. Just as a child she raised her children with religious beliefs, respect for others and as a child armoring the out door taking camping and fishing trips. Elaine surrounded here life with people she loved and with her past time of knitting making baby blankets for all she knew.

Elaine was the influences of history for the family and for her children to learn genealogy of both family's JEANGUENIN and WHARTON.
With this passion of history Elaine worked as a book keeper and bank teller until she was hired at the Utah State historical Society in 1973 to 1979 when the family moved to California with her husband. Elaine worked but continued to conduct genealogy research of the Jeanguenin Family where she made great strives working out of the Salt Lake City Mormon research facility. Upon her husbands death Elaine move to Lincoln City, Oregon and retired, enjoying the great outdoors with a stream at the back door of her home for fishing and work on family history. Enjoying time with her grand children and great grand children she also helped the elderly in her life and as the years came upon her she was help by the younger people that loved her. Elaine was never alone with her two beautiful Queensland healer's by her side for nineteen years living in Lincoln City until two years ago when her last healer pass on. By this time Elaine health was deteriorating and was required to move back to the city for medical reason. In her finale days Elaine fought but knew God spoke in calling her home.

Elaine is survived by her son, David Lee Jeanguenin Wharton of Az / Or; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; daughters Susan Dillon, of Albany Or, five grandchildren; three great-grandchild; Sandra Jeannette Jeanguenin of Ca, three grandchildren; Sylvia Lynn Lambert of Albany, Or; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her Sister Carol Louise Jeanguenin of Kansas City, Mo
She was proceed in death by her husband Harry Lee Wharton of Gilroy Ca; daughter Sonya Lea Maddox of Carson City, Nevada.

Memorial viewing service will be at 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Monday 7 June, 2010 at the AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. Elaine wishes will be carried out by her children to take some of her remains to Courtelary Switzerland of the JEANGUENIN family's village to be sprinkled over the Courtelary Church cemetery.
