Elden Dean Riedy, 67, of Albany was carried home to the Lord while surrounded by his family at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Hope, Kan., to Edwin and Beatrice (Silhan) Riedy, and spent his childhood there. He graduated from Hope High School in 1961 and afterwards attended a year of business college.
On March 11, 1963, he was married to his wife of 47 years, Lynda Klingberg. They moved to Corvallis in 1969, where Elden was employed at Teledyne Wah Chang for 33 years.
Elden was an avid outdoors-man who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joys in life were his grandchildren.
Elden was dearly loved by his family and is survived by his wife, Lynda of Albany; three daughters, Sherry Coon and husband Aaron of Puyallup, Wash., Charlotte Holloway of Albany, and Amy Sleeman and husband Josh of Philomath; eight grandchildren, Aaron Coon Jr. and wife Stephanie of Surprise, Ariz., Alicia Chepulis and husband Kevin of Puyallup, Wash., Melissa Jennings and husband Jacob of Kent, Wash., Katlyn Coon of Puyallup, Wash., Andrew Mitchell, Victoria Mitchell and Paige Holloway, all of Albany, and Makena Sleeman of Philomath; and one great-grandchild, Allie Chepulis of Puyallup, Wash. Elden is also survived by his parents, Edwin and Beatrice Riedy of Hope, Kan.; three brothers, Gary Riedy and wife Shirley of Chapman, Kan., Glen Riedy and wife Patricia of Hope, Kan., and Lyle Riedy and wife Cathy of Topeka, Kan.; and three sisters, Joyce Martinez of Las Vegas, Nev., Carol Kellogg of Herington, Kan., and Linda Riedy of Smith Center, Kan.
Elden was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Elden's life at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Grace Bible Fellowship of Albany. Cremation has taken place.
