Elizabeth Earl Subers Hinds, 87, passed on to her heavenly home Monday evening.
She was born in Lancaster, Pa., to Roy and Bertha (Schreck) Subers. After her father's death in 1939, Liz, her mom and brothers, Harry, DeLarme and Carson, moved to California. She finished school in Inglewood, Calif., and worked in retail until her marriage to Lester Kurrasch in 1948.
After her marriage she was a military wife living up and down the west coast, and in Guam and Alaska. In 1958 Lester and Liz moved to a farm in Crawfordsville where they raised three children. In 1976 Lester and Liz divorced. She married Ralph Hinds in 1977.
Liz loved to sew, knit, crochet and quilt. She also sang with the Sweet Adelines and volunteered at the Albany General Hospital as a Pink Lady.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph; children Kathy Dannen and husband Martin, Tom Kurrasch and wife Rachel, and Carl Kurrasch; stepdaughter Darlene Hickman; grandchildren Allen Dannen and wife Amy, Patrick Dannen and wife Catherine, Gelsey Kurrasch, Sam Kurrasch, Dan McGill and wife Heather, and Tim McGill; great-grandchildren Jack, Sadie and Lauren Dannen, Bailey Gennel and Emily McGill.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 15, at Willamette Memorial Park.
